1. To encourage students to proactively participate in interdisciplinary studies and enhance their independent learning through courses offered by other departments, undergraduate freshmen and sophomores at NCKU may apply to have credits earned from interdisciplinary courses offered by other departments (or degree programs) recognized as credits from self-motivated study upon approval.

2. The application period for the Spring semester of 2026 is from June 22, 2026 to August 28, 2026.

3. To align with the semester transition and the timeline for general education credit transfer operations, the credits from self-motivated study conversion process is scheduled to take place in mid-August.
